Balwearie High School

Challenge Poverty Week

It is Challenge Poverty Week  this week and as a school we are always working hard to ensure equity for all our pupils and their families so in the spirit of the cold weather approaching and the October holidays  looming we thought it might be a nice idea to make up Take Away soup and apple crumble packs

All the ingredients and a recipe are inside so families can cook together. Home Economics, with a free donation of lots of veg and apples from SRUC Elmwood, have been working hard to get these packs ready, all packs are free to all pupils at lunch time Thursday and Friday .

C Williams’ RME senior class have been busy baking and selling cakes to raise money for charity all week .

On Friday we are having FREE FRUIT FRIDAY -  all pupils will have access to free fruit , we are very grateful to Mr and Mrs Akhtar of Premier shops once again for such a kind donation .

And as always we are collecting items for the foodbank to help  families out during the school holiday.
