I ¿ ½m from Kirkcaldy and have worked at Balwearie since 2016., having previously worked at Beath High School and Kirkland High School. ¿ ½

As well as being part of the Design & Technology Team at Balwearie, I am Principal Teacher of Positive Destinations and Employability. I also have experience as a guidance teacher.
I ¿ ½m all about design and really enjoy the creative side of my job. I teach Graphic Communication, Design & Manufacture and Engineering Science on the timetable this year. ¿ ½
I am a Product Designer by trade and love bringing this part of me to my job as a teacher. ¿ ½

I ¿ ½m from Edinburgh originally but moved to Fife a few years ago. My favourite things to go in my spare time are seeing family and friends and going out to the cinema. ¿ ½I ¿ ½ve been a teacher of Design and Technology for 7 years, the last 4 year spent at Balwearie High School. I mainly teach Design and Manufacture, Practical Metalwork and Graphic Communication but I enjoy all aspects of Design and Technology. It ¿ ½s exciting being part of such a big department and getting to work with a great team of people.¿ ½We look forward to seeing you all soon! -

I'm from Edinburgh and in my spare time I love travelling and going to gigs. I love everything design and am always thinking about my next project.
Prior to becoming a teacher I studied and worked in product design. I use this experience throughout my teaching to pass on skills and inspire our future generation of creatives.
I teach mostly Graphic Communication and Design and Manufactute. In my classes I always like to find ways to make learning as memorable and as fun as possible.

Mr SouthernTeacher of Design + Technology

I am from Cape Town, South Africa, where I graduated as a Engineering Graphics and Design teacher.
I really enjoy being active and being in nature. I play rugby for a club in Edinburgh and my favourite hobbies are surfing and cycling.
I love being part of the Balwearie Design and Technology Department and my favourite thing about teaching is being able to help learners overcome difficulties in order to develop new skills. ¿ ½

Previously Principal Teacher of the department I am now a Depute Headteacher in charge of the S4 year group. I mostly teach Engineering Science, Graphic Communication and Construction. I enjoy graphic design, constructing things and I am a big fan of technology. I am a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator and Apple Teacher.
Before coming to Balwearie I taught at Kinross High School, Linlithgow Academy and The Community School of Auchterarder. I've been at Balwearie for 5 years now.

Mrs MitchellPrincipal Teacher of Guidance & Teacher of Design + Technology
Mrs Mitchell
As well as being Principal Teacher of Guidance for Piteadie House, I am also a Design and Technology teacher in the school. I teach mostly woodwork in the Design and Technology department and love being in the workshop making things.
I started my teaching at Balwearie HS in 1994, and at that time was the first female qualified Technology teacher in Fife.
I am very proud of the school and love being part of the exciting Design and Technology department.
